i have bought a second hand pair of avo coilovers and am going to remove the spring and platform from the body so i can prep and paint the coilover body.

However i cant get my spring compressors to fit the coilover springs.

How have other people taken them apart i take it its the same as normal springs and shocks where its unsafe to undo them while there is still tension in the spring?

I had the same problem with my H&R’s but found that when I un-screwed the platform under the spring completely (equivalent of lowering the car), it undid enough to completely slacken the spring, then I could undo the top mounts and take them apart. hth

I just need to find a way of winding the platform down because i didnt get sent the adjustment spanner
