I got them for my FRST because without them the rubbing on the normal springs was driving me mad

Coilovers should definitely be an improvement over standard springs+shocks in terms of stiffer spring rates and controlling things like bodyroll; its nice too to be able to set your ride height to your preference so you can find a decent height to match your wheel size. Most coilovers i've seen also come with adjustable rebound/compression damper settings, so again you can adjust this to your individual taste, super-stiff for track or more compliant for normal road use

Coilovers should also have spring and damping rates which are specifically matched, this might not be the case if you bought seperate shocks+springs from two different manufacturers; however if you buy matched springs+shocks then this setup should perform as well as coilovers

Just a case of whether you want the extra adjustability (and the extra expense) of coilovers :Q
