Coilovers
wanted to get a few opinions on which coilovers are best to invest into, in terms of quality and handling. im not to keen with the avo setup as the handling is ok and the build quality is fairly poor

i heard plenty of people say that AVO handled well, but a few complaints about build quality/failures
only heard good things about GAZ, so went with them.
was really pleased, to begin with. nowhere near as bad a ride as the "coil-over-critics" would have you believe!
then last week, i spent the day lowering it a bit more, then got it set up at ELITE in essex.
now it's sh#t-hot!!!
make sure you have the alignment done!!!
over the moon now!

Save yourself a whole load of hassle and excessive expense by going with the tried and tested Koni top adjustables and 25-30mm spring kit. Contrary to what half the people beleive on this site coilovers are not the bee all and end all of making a car handle. I don't even run coilovers on my track car

Just wondering how many of the people that bleat about coilovers have actually had the cars cornerweighted? I strongly suspect the "handling" thing comes down to comparing shafted old kit to new.
Admittidly it's Cosworth talk but read Mike Rainbirds comments on road cars and coilovers on P151 column 3 of issue 252 of Fast Ford

White2i :I have got H&R coilovers on mine and i love it great ride quality but the handling is second to none, car sticks to the road very very well, my fault PMK3 has bought coilovers for his car
but aren't these only height adjustable, i need both height and ride adjustable ones

yeah they are only height adjustable, but i had mine corner weighted and bought the correct springs to go in them to get the handling and ride set up spot on, cost a bit to get done but the difference is brilliant, at the end of the day depends what you characterists you are longing from the car to what you want to buy
