Converting turbo'd 1600 to low comp

Postby DaveRom on Wed Jun 29, 2005 8:44 pm

Just a quickie folks,

Are the only major parts needed for the bottom end low comp pistons or can the originals be machined!

Would i need anything else (obviously new head gasket and bolts) but apart from that!

Thanks

Dave

What kind of boost/power are you hoping to run with it?

If it's something silly high then I'd get stronger rods fitted at the same time :)

Oh right - well I'd say pistons and rings, the rods should be fine with that kind of boost with a T2 :)

Cheers,

Thanks Andy

Do you think the T3 would be better though?

I'm wanting to get some use out of this engine before i go for a ZT, bearing in mind its only got 9 thou on it too! Would the T3 be better for quarter mile times than a hybrid T2.

Thanks again!
