From what I understand...
You basically need to remove the floorpan
Weld in a shortened Escort Cos/Sierra Cos or make your own transmission tunnels, plus room for the gearbox and diffs, convert the rear suspension to independent MacPherson struts (i.e. like the front), widen the track for the 4x4 running gear... basically, you need to take 1 Escort Cos and 1 Fiesta shell, chop the tops off the two and swap 'em. The Cosworth engine is, and always has been longitudinally mounted (front to back), unlike the normal transverse mounting, which is the only one I've ever seen used in a Fiesta.
It may be easier to mount a Cosworth block transversely with a custom built gearbox, although space will immediately become a serious issue, and your exhaust manifold will sit somewhere between 6 and 9 inches the wrong side of the bulkhead.
Good luck!
