Cossie transplant?

are you thinking of doing this yourself?
would think the easiest route to cossie type power would be ZVH 16v Turbo, remember cossies are rear or 4 wheel drive and fezzys are FWD - not impossible to change but bloody expensive!!

No, I wouldn't know where to start. Theres a garage near me though thats done this sort of thing before, he's put one in a 205 and more recently a wide arch Ka (I think, might be rumour about the Ka. Seen the Ka, looks really nice, very wide, but havent seen the engine). It would be converted to 4wd. Just wondering if anyone knew how much this would cost roughly? If I did it it wouln't be for about another 4 years (probably not have my fiesta by then, so doubt it will happen, but would like to know anyway).

I've never seen a Cossie lump in a Fez b4. But i have spoken about this conversion with a few engineers. Basically the outcome was a NO NO. too much hassle, too much money and just not feasable. alot of people would say its impossible.

It is possible!
I have seen two, both mk 3's. The second one is in next months fast ford, and is positioned transversely (unlike the normal cossie engines) and is powering the front wheels (again unlike normal cossies). This would make it a b@stard to drive because of the torque steer so RWD or 4x4 would be best.
The second fessie cossie was a 4wd, using a escort cos floorpan and transmission etc. This looked stupid as the extra wide arches and body didnt really suit the fiesta. It was four wheel drive fast as fook though, and looked mental.
My point?? It is possible
Personally I would go for a 2.0L zetec turbo, or even 1.7 puma turbo. You can get cossie power from these no probs.

Build a fiesta rwd using a mk1 or 2 floor. Thats how people usually do it. or just cut room for the tunnel and whack it a big fat roll cage/chassis effort.
People make grass tack fiesta cosworths using a lancia box and mount it sideways in the back, like that blue erst in max power ages ago, dunno if it would be easier or not

there was that yellow one and a couple of months ago there was a blue one on the cover of fast ford, i'm suprised none of you saw it. the yellow one snapped drive shafts all the time though, i cant remember why.
for my mad ass project (which will never happen, so dont have a go) i want to put a 300zx twin turbo v6 in the back, rwd and take it to 600 brake. just to see what would happen you see

Why is it not going to happen dunster, sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Set goals high, then when you reach them you are well proud! Bear in mind they used to put V6 jag engines in the backs of metros and they were 4wd!

i know them metro's, they were the 6r4 group b rally cars, that engine was later developed to power the jaguar xj220 super car.
anyway, the reason it will never happen is [ERRR] i am only on £80 a week and am struggling to mod my 1.1 so a rear engined v6 is out of the question for now as i cant do these things myself, i can just plan them.
