cosworth brakes ???

Postby GXr2i on Fri Jan 17, 2003 10:51 am

I've read in one of the parts for sale posts, that someone was selling

cossie brakes with xr2i calipers. Is it is possible to use these calipers with

cossie brakes ??? Or for a true conversion will pukka cossie calipers be

better ??

I ask because I've got an 89 xr2i and am thinking of upgrading the

brakes to cossie / rs2000 in the near future.

Aren't Cossie rotots 25-30mm in thickness? 2i rotors are only 20mm, so the answer's no unless you do some hefty mods, and then you will have to make a 5mm spacer/extension bracket up as well as far as I know.

cossie brakes are best

very cheap too

in comparison a 4 pot kit will cost you arround £1000

cossie disks £150
cossie pads £70
Cossie calipers £120 recond i paid for mine

£5 for washers and bolts

£30 for braided brake hoses

job is a good one

ive also replace my master cylinder and brake linkage more due to the fact i was bored than to improve braking

but they now stop spot on

if you aint got abs be very carefull with them
