Its just that i allways see em on tacky cars, people think they make a car look posh/expensive and so they get stuck on a-reg sierra's with 5-spoke chrome trims... whats all that about...
Just dont think that sorta thing should be on a nice car, a plate is a playe, dont make it bigger thatn it needs to be,
Look at the pic in the sig, plate is huge...

Looks good.. looks pretty good.. hope the IC gets enough airflow THRU it.. due to the fact that is is mounted in front of a panel
Clearing it about an inch of this panel will allow more air to pass the IC.

Looks Great...I want one! but...I have always prefered the FRST Fan...

though is the XR2i fan any better as I always thought the FRST fan shifted more air?

The XR2i fan seems to shift a spork load of air, and the drain appears to be bigger on the system as the revs drop lower with the XR2i fan on idle than it used to with the FRST fan

It does seem very effective. The rad core is cold where the fan is pulling air through.

I think my original assumption was correct in that Ford only went for the front mounted fan on the FRST because there was no room for a rear one with the turbo and therefore the heat on the back.

I suppose a good test of which is better is to find out what the ERST runs. Having a bigger engine bay the rad might have a rear mounted fan on it.

Cool man, but it wont fit unless you have things like my setup or similar which is to say:-

a) Rad is on T3 mounts so moved further forward than normal and...
b) there is no charge pipe running from the turbo to bottom of IC like on normal FRST layouts.

It's only because of this it fits. I did try and get a decent overhead photo, but the gloomy english weather we are currently having put paid to a clear photo.

yeah keep the plate where it is, i think that car will be running a lot cooler now with that big Rad in it. Just one thing, have you protected the metal you cut away? Don't want rust.

I have given it all a spray over with primer and stuff. But this weekend I shall go over it again with more layers to ensure it's well sealed.
