Have you driven it much lately/and or driven it for short trips , if so it may not be a head gasket it may just be condensation buildup as it happens when car doesn't get chance to get to fullworking temps to stop it building up

If that makes sense lol

If it runs fine ,no overheating or blowing water out from header then I would think that's all it is

Sounds just like its condensation from small runs ,lots of cars suffer with this due to the breather setup as short runs do t give the motor chance to clear it all out with small runs

If you have such signs,I am afraid you have some minor problems with the headgasket. What is said regarding condensation is correct, but if you see foam in the expansion tank,or do an oil chang and after some time the oil is creamy, there is a chance that the headgasket has some minor crack. How is it idleing?Do you see vapour from the exhaust much longer than what it was before? Also, try something more...with the engine running and the expansion tank cap screwed,if you rev the engine, does the water level in the expansion tank rises? There is a test you can do to see if there is damage to the headgasket, although it has some error margin...you must buy this : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLOCK-TESTER-UNIVERSAL-CYLINDER-HEAD-COMBUSTION-LEAK-GASKET-DAMAGE-TEST-/290937720560?pt=UK_Measuring_Tools_Levels&hash=item43bd3d4ef0
It "sniffs" traces of combustion gases in the coolant.

Get a Haynes mate and give it a crack yourself its honestly not that hard to do a head gasket at all if needs be ,and if it is frothing then it might be worth checking it with a sniff test first , this will tell you if any exhaust gases are in your water/header tank and will confirm the worst if it is hg

Just noticed your earlier post about the heaters blowing cold on the 31st ,usually this is the first indicator it could be hg along with your current creamy situation ,no pun intended lol
Get a sniff test like the link that was posted and see what it says

Oh and forgot to add I would also check your thermostat is opening and closing correctly in a kettle as this can cause all sorts of issues if it doesn't open and close as it should

Thermostats cause a lot of troubles when stick...but since you say it is relatively new,I don't think it would create problems.I would also check the cooling fan switch and plug.Due to heavy load it tends to burn out internally,it frays the contacts, and unfortunately you notice it when it is already late. Now,regarding headgasket replacement...If you have a decent set of tools, and you can make some basic thing on your engine, for example a cambelt replacement,it is easy to do it.CVH's are simple engines, they need basic mechanical knowledge.Further that, this is a good way to learn your engine,if there isn't a reputable garage to your place,as far as I see it,the risks of leting others do the replacement is a weighted risk.Perhaps if you do it by your self, following instructions carefully, you will do a better job, since the car is yours, that's so simple... :)

Did you check the "new " stat before you fitted it ?? Only ask as recently bought 3 new ones for cars I have and surprisingly two out of the three didnt even open ,well one did very slightly and the other stayed shut

If you didn't check then for the hassle involved would certainly whip it out and get it in a bowl of boiling water and check it opens as if ya don't it may just kill any new gasket you put on the car aswell :(

And you can get the head gasket done in 4-5 hrs DIY no probs
C'mon guys no one near this chap willing to help out ???? Am miles away or would have come and done it for ya

Good idea about the thermostat...I would try the "new" one also.If you need a new headgasket,Ford's ones are Payen head gaskets as far as I know.Regarding help,I wish I was near you m8.I would gladly help you,but unfortunately,I am not just far,I am in another country,I am from Greece! Although as I often say,I live in the wrong country, well at least for what's involved in Fords
