I've been hunting aswell mate, after seeing the prices I've decided I'm just gonna have a blast at making my own as I'm retrimming the door cards anyway... Can just hide the bad craftsmanship under that lol!

Always agreed with "you get what you pay for" but a 3-figure sum for a bit of plastic / fibreglass I could never really justify

it doesnt really matter about materials in all honesty...have you considered the man hours to create one off pieces? fair play they mass produce these (i think) but your paying for their R+D time...bit like paying someone to map a car...they can be done in a few hours yet your happy to pay £500+ no problem...your paying for their expertese or however you spell it lol

if you go cheap and cheerful you get it. in the long run you only end up forking out for them anyway as you then realise that they are poor quality and you dont like them because you got cheap and cheerful. i learnt the hard way it only ever costs you more.

ive been considering getting the £125 ones, i knew they would be expensive but £200 for the audioscape ones is a bit mental. id probably be willing to spend upto £150 for some new ones but obviously less for 2nd hand. been looking out for some on ebay for months, i saw some audioscape ones on there last year for £75 but i didnt want them then. sods law :P

sorry for late reply, they are just from a standard si 5 door. i have 13cm in there atm with adapters. i wanted the custom pods more for styling purposes than functionality but it would be good if i could go a bit bigger than 13 :)

I have had the Audioscape ones since 98 and with the right speakers give a great sound.

Did your audioscape ones come with the speaker holes pre drilled?
I won some brand new ones on ebay from audioscape for £58 (bargin), but the speaker holes need drilling is this normal?

They do need drilling because you can put different size speakers in them. I run 17cm Alpine DD drive speakers.
