Custom Pistons
Hello
I like to buy a custom pistons, but I dont know all tech information which are they demand.
I have RS1800 Zetec engine and I like to up my compression ratio at 11.5:1.
Please Help me:by point ( 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,19,20)
What We Need To Know
When you call XXXX to order custom pistons, we must know the following things to correctly make pistons for you. Please have this information on hand. If you have all of this information, call and place your order.
1. Bore Size
2. Crankshaft Stroke
3. Rod Length
4. Engine Type
5. Head Type
6. Head CC
7. Amount heads have been milled
8. Valve Diameters
9. Intake valve location when on the seat as compared to the surface of the head (flush, amount recessed, or amount proud).
10. Camshaft lift at split overlap when piston is at T.D.C.
11. Type of Racing
12. Type of fuel to be used
13. Will Nitrous or Forced Induction be used, and in what amount
14. Type of rings you plan to use
15. Type of pins you wish to buy, or if you wish to use your own pins, you must tell us the diameter and length of your pins
16. Options that you wish to add (Lock Removal Indents, Internal Milling, etc.)
17. Method of payment (Visa, AMEX, etc.)
18. Method of Shipment
19. Gasket thickness and block height (amount block has been milled.)
20. Type of rods

I think if ur asking these questions u really need to get urself an engine builder who knows his stuff. They usually have this sorta stuff in there head. All the measurements are depending upon what the final spec u want. easy 1 is teh bore. if ur stayin the same cc then I think its 81mm off hand, but that again depends on the condition of ur bores, they may need borinin/honin.
Best bet get an engine builder to sort it 4 u.

why don't you skimm the head , and have a piece cut out of the pistons for the valves..
