cutting out
hi guys had my car back with new engine and it has started to cut out randomly but starts up again straight away any ideas why it is doing this

I had this problem, turned out to be an intermittent battery. But I would have a look at the ignition relay first. There's a sticky at the top of the technical problem/queries forum called "electrical problems look here first"

could be your idel controll valve or possibly the crank sensor as my fiesta 1.1 use to randomly cut out at speed and thne start fine and i went crazy when i thought it was me

if its the crank sen,or idel control valve are these easy to replace. The car runs fine on throttle its just when i stop at junctions it just cuts out but its fine sometimes idiling just under 1000rpm, then it drops to about 4-500 almost stalleing but then idels to just over 1000rpm its driving me nuts as i have a new engine to run in cheers matthew

if it is the iscv is it straight forward to change as i dont like to play with fuel cheers mat

Do a search as there's a guide to cleaning it. Just need the gaskets or some gasket paper then. Not normally any need for a brand new one.
