Cvh efi throttle body types
1st post on here and need some info please, I have a mk4 xr3 efi which isn't running right,
It's the later efi with the iscv on the manifold, but little confused with the throttle bodies,
I've got 3 of them, 1x has hole in bottom half of butterfly, 1x has hole in upper butterfly, and the other has no hole.
I'm not sure which should be fitted, and neither do people on a escort website

Re: Cvh efi throttle body types
from memory i think the hole was added when the idle valve manufacturer was changed.think they were a weber one but they had a lot of trouble so ford designed there own .so on that note the one with out the hole is for a early remote idle valve (probably xr2i) dont use this one) and the ones with holes in i would say will be fine which ever position the hole is...

Re: Cvh efi throttle body types
Thanks for replying, I'll be fitting one with a hole in at weekend, could this be the reason it's stalling when trying to set base idle?

Think you may be right, weird thing is I brought the complete manifold with everything on it, but car wouldn't go into base idle mode, it would stall as soon as the iscv was disconnected.
Fitted one of the other throttle bodies, and it works, still has slight misfire at idle, which is not curable.
