cvh to zetec engine swap

cvh to zetec engine swap

Postby rsturbonutter on Fri Feb 14, 2014 6:34 pm

Am about to swap my engines over from cvh turbo to zetec turbo using a silvertop. I have got an inlet adapter from jano oddkidd. I got a thermostat adaptor plate. I am using my current rs setup. Is there any mounts I need to change or pipework of any sort as I want it up and running in a weekend

I just done one mate the other way around , I had to change the engine mount and mod a pipe at the back of the inlet cos the oil cooler had moved but if your going n/a i dont think its going to bother you just make sure you have the correct flywheel ,iv a spare if u need it but itll cost a bit to post

I got a couple of rs flywheels knocking about am I right in thinking that I only need to enlarge the holes to 12mm. Will my alternator be ok or do I need a zetec one have got a rs1800 one available. all water hoses will be fine will they?

Flywheel holes need enlarging to 11mm :)

You can use a CVH alternator with a CVH mount, and just swap the pulley. Or you can use the RS1800 alternator but with the Zetec front mount.

Hoses - can't help you there! There are definitely some differences, especially with the bottom hose.

Been having a look at the bottom hose it appears the zetec is slightly larger at the waterpump. Will get a reducer of some sort.

I got a radtec escort rs turbo one mate. Should mention mate I got a rs turbo just swapping from cvh to zetec. I bought an engine out of an Orion turbo from passionford a while ago. I have been collecting all the parts I think I need for the conversion for the last couple of months. Just unsure as to how I mount the lump. I am using everything from my current set up except bigger injectors bigger turbo and Graeme goode exhaust manifold. i just in sure of the water piping can I not use my old heater matrix?

so your going to run the cvh efi inlet that should make it plug n play on that side just really the water pipes thats an issue then your putting it in a fiesta yes are u using a standard intercooler cos it wont fit in next to the escort rad like the cvh turbo fiesta one and u know youll need to sort a mount out check and see if the guys left a engine mount on the donor engine
