Dastek Unichip

CVH and Zetec tuning, suspension and braking mods.

Dastek Unichip

Postby Stoned on Tue Jul 26, 2005 5:27 pm

Anyone got one?

I'm looking for feedback as basically i've just ordered one second hand, and being they are a universal piggyback system people here might have had experience with them

If so what can I expect from them?

I would like a smoother map on my engine to take advantage of the mods and also better economy :)

Chris, you're going to HAVE to take me out in this car, you're going to have a serious rocket on your hands. Will you use it to attempt to qualify for TOTBV next year? Surely it could pull a 12.something quarter? Possibly high 11? :aaah:

P.S. StreetDragster's mate with the Tomcat Turbo has a Unichip which should've been mapped and setup yesterday, I forgot to ask how it went. Get in touch with Matt anyway, see how it's doing :)

lol

12's are possible on a standard car, just not with my gearbox

Mine should be able to get into a 12s if I really go for it. I've never really tried.

Let's see what power she has first

The guys with 400bhp are getting that. Mine aint even close

Well then sort your gearbox (and clutch if need be) early on next year and use the car for TOTB. You really should give it a go! I'll be trying mine out there next year, as with decent lower arms and tyres it should really be able to pull a mid to late 13 second run out I think :-? [order] See you there! [/order]

I already got one mate with a pulsar map on there. Doesnt seem to like my engine too much tho.

I'm taking my R to Engine Advantages on the 12th to have it remapped :D

cos it wont be mapped to the exact spec and tolerances of your engine! just cos it has a pulsar map on doesnt mean it will work!

they are custom mapped chips to that engine, get it mapped mate and it will be sorted!

Yeah I know mate, it's just his spec is very similar to mine so I was suprised to find it didnt work. But as said it's no biggy, it's being remapped either way. I just wanted to check it worked :)
