I would fit the K&N replacement panel filter and drill th ecold side of the air box for increased flow.

You can fit an induction kit if you want but they tend to cost more and offer little if any gain over a well sorted panel and air box set up

You should be fine mate so don't worry.

The cold side of the filter box is the side that sits furthest from the engine. A driled airbox also gives a very similar sound to an induction kit. I even did my A4 estate runabout.

Do you have a warantee on the car as the only downside to drilling the box is you can't undrill it.

iirc a panel filter is about £35-45 and an induction kit is £70-95 depending on what you're putting it on.

If you go the drilled airbox route you don't have to mesh the holes but it won't hurt. It's easy to do just remove the airbox from the car and drill a load of 10mm holes on th ecold side. Make sure though you don't drill the wrong side of th eairbox or unfiltered air will get into your engine, not good

You will need the correct filter for your car mate. Even if the physical dimensions are the same th erudges that hold it in place may not be. For the sakes of £20 why risk the hassle unless it is being sold as being for your car

No he couldn't as particles of dirt will get into the engine and make a mess of it.

My Audi airbox looks like swiss cheese mate. There's probably 50 holes in it.
