Dilemma? Fiesta rs turbo cvh or Rs1800?

Postby Xr_Dub on Mon May 03, 2004 7:27 pm

Right I have had and done enough! To my xr2i 8v! To extract enough power of car!
(That’s 128 BHP) there is so much u can do! 2 it!

I have cum two they age of 21! And need 2 move on! To improved power!
I always loved the fezz mark 3 Shape and size of the xr2i and FRST!

The fiesta rs turbo is 1.6 8v cvh 132 bhp (with a t2 turbo)
The fiesta rs1800 is 1.8 16v zetec 128 bhp (not with a turbo)

My mates have vr6 2.9, g60, gsi 2.1,and they others 1.8 16v gti’s

They say litres count and it does! Every one I spoke 2 (ford peeps and other experts) say don’t get a transplant engine conversion
just buy an frst if u want a turbo!

It will work out cheaper and less hassle!
In addition, they say go for the rs1800 cuz there more you can do 2 it i power!

However, the rs1800 doesn’t have a turbo!
And cost £2500 - £3500 too fit one in they engine!

Whats the most u can extract out of the cvh engine I only seen and heard of 1.9. cvh turbo frst
Whats the most poer from a cvh! that peep have got or heard

Look at sunnys frst ! His is a zetec and hes kicking 550-++ bhp!

Advice peeps! Pls! Holla!

Well if it was me, i would stick with CVH. As its so tuneable, and if kept serviced, will go on forever. If you spend enough money on it, the CVH will produce silly amounts of power. Most of the power on this engine lies in the head. So id go for a fully big valve head, ported, polished etc.
Low comp bottom end, and it would produce over 200 BHP.

As for the Zetec, peeps will tell you that it can be made to produce stupid amounts of power. All depends what engine you want to choose.

At the moment i have both cars (just been rebuilding the RS1800), and although the 1800 is pretty quick (as standard) it doesn't have the fun factor that the FRST has.

As for tuning, from what i can work out, you can get plenty of power from the zetec, and will take the power well too, you just have to spend a lot of money on it. The FRST on the other hand is very easy to tune.

HTH :D

Don't bother with the 1800 if you want big power for small bucks.

P.S. You seem to be mistaking your space bar for the exclamation mark
