ok wanna make my own dials, hehehehehe how misguided
anyhow, after a quick consultation with Mr Haynes (property of Sutton Library on permanent loan 2 Mr Begley), i have learnt how to take out the unit [ERRR] the dials in but also found out not enough holes or space to make them lit from behind
sooooooooooooo
wanna make my own dials on PC (p1ss easy in theory) but can you take the old dials off so i can scan them so they will line up nicely (and 2 get scale right)
also whats the best way to remember the needle positions b4 i take em off!
here goes.......

Bit of advice from someone who has lady levered it up. Before you take the speedo needle off lift it over the needle stop to see how far it goes back then remember that position for when putting it back on. Otherwise you will put it back on thinking it should go where the needle stop is and your reading will be 10 mph off.
hope this complicated explanation helps.

I too had an idea like this some time ago. I got a spare set of clocks and scanned the dials in.....only to find that the scanned image was a few mms out when printed (something to do with the optics of the scanner and the resolution of the printer). Anyway, I created all my own dials in CorelDraw, got them printed out on acetate, then coated the back first with a green pearl, then a white base (so the dials glowed green in the dark, like real cossie ones!). Fitting wasn't too bad - I used strong spray adhesive, which allowed repositioning. However, I found that once those needles had come off it was virtually impossible to get them back on in the same place, and the speedo always read 10mph over

i didn't think i'd be the only one to have attempted this mod!
i dismantled my dials, then scanned the buggers into photoshop at 600dpi, then completely redesigned them, changed the font, got rid of the km/h do-do, added some funky graphics, printed them at high resolution onto self adhesive white paper, then boshed 'em into place!
when i bought my pioneer CD player, i did some more, with just a subtle logo on them, on the speedo... they look wicked, but some bubbles have started to appear.
i'm going to do them again.

I've had a f*ckin good idea...
Print dials in blue ink onto OHP
Spray metal backing plates silver
Spray needles Peugot Royal Blue (done!)
Blinding
Or...
Remove backing plates
fit high intensity blue LEDs behind each white dial sheet

Check: http://www.fiesta-tuning.de
