yes mate they are easy to do yourself, jack the car up at the front, take the wheel off, undo the top mount (inside engine bay), disconnect the anti-roll bar and remove the shock/spring, then get a spring clamp and clamp the spring and undo the nut on the spring cup and the back is just the same. This is probably totally wrong but i think it's the way me and my mate went about doing it.

It cost me £30 quid for a garage to do just the front springs. Did the back myself, easy enough, couldn't get one of the front wheels off though. Undid the bolts but the wheel was stuck. Spent about an hour kicking and hammering at it, but it wouldn't come off so gave it to the garage. The only problem I had with the back was getting the shock out after undoing the top mount and the bottom bolt, slowly lowered the wheel after undoing the bottom bolt, but the brake hose would only let it drop so far. Didnt want to remove the hose, so clamped the spring while it was still on the car and pushed the insert in as far as I could, with the top bolt still in and the bottom one undone, then undid the top while reaching under and holding the shock. Then once undone it came straight out. Hope this helps.

Oh yeah, I also "slacked off" the spring cup bolt while the whole shock was still bolted to the car to make it easier once it was out. Not sure if any of what I've said is the best way to do it, but thats what I did.

when you put the self lowering springs on, do they change the camber of the wheels and foul up the road handling?
if you get them professionally done, do they sort out your camber? with professionally i mean like demon dweeks not sum dodgey garage!!!
and how much does this cost?
i got offered sum lowering springs for my fester for £35, only 30mm tho
is it worth the hassle, i mean will it look a lot better than before?
cheers

The camber will change, but not enough to affect anything unless you go 70mm or more.
the only way of corrdcting it is to use different length lower arms id possible, or camber adjustable ones.
30mm may make a difference. Some springs quoted as 30/35mm actually lower the car a lot more, but then agian some quoted as 65mm only drop it 40.
