yep far as i know dump valves are only needed for big power cars 300hp+ ? plus you will hear the chatter better without the valve lol try postin it up in tuning forum

I like both!
I've got a D/V because I use the standard airbox which doesn't amplify the chatter much.
For me using the piper X induction kit massivly hits economy. With the standard box and ITG I get like 210-230 miles. With the piper X I get 170-200 at the best, with no noticeable power increase.
However I want some sort of noise so DV it is! Chatter does sound better though

You don't need a dumpvalve on your RST unles you are running 30psi of boost (unlikely) or using a turbo of T4 size or greater (again not likely).
At least chatter is a byproduct of an induction kit. With a dump valve you have to part with cash to sound like a bus, which is a million times more gay.

i know this isn't frst related but we fit a blitz D/V to my bruvs 200sx a couple days ago and the chatter got alot louder, you couldn't hear before that....Kinda goes against what has been said here but anywho.....

removed dump valve today and i love the sound, but think i need to get it tune up some more, will that make the chatter louder with more boost?

Not possible I'm afraid if you can hear more audible chatter than before the DV isn't doing it's job. Either that or you're mistaking the sounds

You can usualy run 30psi without a dumpvalve
Only time i would use a dump valve is on T4 or GT range of turbo.

As everyone jumps on the turbo "flutter" wagon, keep the D/V i will still use my Collins twin piston D/V with my new engine, just to be different
