Do people still want race style fuel caps??

Cos i saw an advert in the for sale section of this months Fast ford, for some one who's selling them.
I'll get the number if anyone wants it.
They look pretty good.

pauls bought one from ford fair - the actaul petrol cap is alloy, only 25 quid !!!!
no stupid stick on surround either !

shame they didn't have one for a mark 2 :sad:

I would like one, how do they fit, are the the stick on ones. I dont like stick on ones... but i dont really want to drill into my car..

You don't need to drill for the Mocal ones like mine, just machine a couple of mm off the cap then they bolt straight on.

Is there are ali surround too??? Does this simply replace the surrounding plastic and plug straight in???

the one paul has got replaces the actual orginial petrol cap
ie use key, remove cap, place new one in, lock with new key !

looks alot better than any others i've seen !

what about the plastic trim that is around the cap, that comes out, is there a nice metal replacment??

I dont know anything about them, i only saw an advert for them.

What i wanna know is could i replace my excisting fuel cap, with a racing look one, then change them back at a later date.

On MK3... When you take the fuel cap out with the key.. around the hole there is a plastic trim, black plastic trim.. This is removable and is only clipped in... Under which is USUALLY where rust hides...

Surely it would look stupid having a metal cap with a black plastic outer housing... like a frame.. :smile:

I have one. £30 ford fair (£25 was a haggled price) We actually ran to get the last few, narrowly beating louise to snaffle the last one.. they are perfect, will post a pic soon

No these are standard replacement they slot into the place where the black plastic was and stay there, i didnt fit mine me will check it out though.
