It's bolts straight up.

So an S2 gearbag on a 2.0 Fiesta would shift well

Depends on your wheel and tyre size as well as this also affects the gearing and your top speed.
I would think you wouldn't be far off a real 130mph with a 2litre Zetec under the bonnet.

the diesel boxes arent necessarily any stronger as they didnt exactly have to cope with massive amounts of power and torque. but you will get higher top speed but loose acceleration because the nature of a diesel engine is different. higher torque but fewer revs
also slightly off topic but is £500 a good price for a brand new lsd unit?

Laner :I've heard rumors about using diesel box?
Surely this is just going to be stronger and your not likely to gain any extra speed or accelration due to the nature of a diesel car?
The diesel box being stronger myth has been around years. It's complete cobblers and is no tougher than any other BC/IB5 box. The ratios are wholly unsuitable for most applications as although the gearing is taller you also need the torque to pull the car through the gears and often end up with a slower car overall as the gearing doesn't match the torque curve.

I disagree there, perhaps so in most applications but on the 2.0l it seems to work well. You do sacrifice a small amount of acceleration but if you are largely doing long journeys it's a good box.

The 2.0 certainly does'nt have the torque to pull through the diesel box. They make less torque than a stock FRST and I know my non stock FRST would be killed with a diesel box and that has substantially more than a stock FRST.
I 110% stand by my comments

Works well on the one I did for a mate. There's a few members on here that are running that setup, VUK for example and no complaints there. It's a pointless discussion anyway as this thread was originally about LSD's.

Agreed. You will not get me to change my mind as I've timed a car before during and after a diesel box swap and it was slower across every discipline. Might even still have the test data somewhere as well if we didn't bin it during the house moves
