does a 165 chip need new actuator !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CVH and Zetec tuning, suspension and braking mods.

UHF just found out about getting 165 chip. Its £295 in the car and ready to drive off. I thought you needed a uprated actuator to run the 12 psi, but apparently you dont.

Is this true, can the standard ford one handle it ok???

Also would the car need to be rolling roaded to get it running sweet, they said it doesn't???

It isnt nesscesary, i am using my standard actuator.

Aslong as its in good nick there should be no problems.

Although a -32 would be better.

Oh, and yes it does need set up on the rollers.

Interesting, anyone got any views on this, the company in question in St Albans assured me it wouldnt need a RR tune!

Depends on whether you want to hold the boost or not..
I would recomend you get one, I needed one at your stage of tune, as the original had gone soft and i wasn't holding the boost.

The other way of not using an uprated actuator is a bleedvalve......and if this company say you dont need a RR set-up i wouldn't trust them using a bleedvalve.

Do SCC class themselves as tuners ? as they dont own a rolling road, i know they build engines but how do they set them up :???:

Well they did, I phoned the guy yesterday, I asked about RR and he said that there wasnt a lot your could change on a fiesta. Do we have an SCC board member anywhere?

Anyway, where in Hertfordshire/North London area can I go for a 165 chip and "proper" setup on a RR? Prices also!?

i got my chip second hand with a ECU for £150 notes i am going to put it on then get it setup at my local RS tuner. Im sure PT$ could fit you a stage 1 chip or even the famous Unichip (I know...). Ian FRST has had a lot of stuff from there i gather !

When i was at PTS (cowboys) for the Fast Ford RR shootout i was not that impressed...and you just have to look how long Ian's car lasted.

Sorry, but i do not rate PTS (cowboys) very well.
