Looking to put Door speakers back into DTR but unsure what size to go for dont really want Door Pods just something that can fit behind the standard door pockets..

Would like something uprated and a nice crisp sound as i would like to amp them.

130mm (I'm an engineer 13cm is offensive to my ears! =P) components is what you need, look on the bay, there are some conv. kits going for insanely cheap on there, depends on what W-RMS your after though to how insanely cheap they are =D

can you wire your door speakers from a amp or do you just plug them straight into the door speaker wire? which is best?

You can but the door wires go through a multi plug in between the door and the car. Unless you want to run some new cable through grommets and into the doors, an idea might be to use the speaker plug in an audioleads adapter kit. If you run the amp output back into this plug and into the car loom you can use all the existing wiring to run the speakers in the doors.
