DOT 4 Brake Fluid

Postby funkdude2 on Fri Aug 31, 2007 4:14 pm

Hi there,

This may sound a really stupid question to all experianced members but I just wanted to double check.

I´m getting new brake pads and discs next week, and was also going to get DOT 4 brake fluid.

Lookign around there are so many types.

Could somone simply post the right fluid just enough to do both front sides, and its for a 1995 1.3 non ABS car.

Many Thanks,

Scott.

DOT 4 is the correct fluid you should be using. If you haven't already though it's worth flushing the whole braking system through with fresh fluid as over time it absorbs moisture from the air which lessens it's effectiveness as the boiling point lowers.

Ideally you should be changing brake fluid every 2 years anyway.
