Re: Drilled and grooved discs . . .
Can do yes, normally its because they are cheap. Which means they are poorly made and are weak and cant resist high temps, so they crack where the holes are normally. Saying that though, depends what brake setup you have and what sort of driving you will be doing, and also what wheels you have (alloy or steelies)
If your doing just everyday normal speed driving (30-40mph) without heavy breaking - which you shouldnt need to do at all at that speed unless your a chive, then it will be ok.
Where as if you always going fast and breaking hard, they will get hotter, and lead to failure - as with all brakes tbh.
I know alot of people who have these - the cheaper kind from halfrauds/ebay and they have been totally fine. Even on 2 litre fiestas. So they cant be all that bad really

Not much point really, with all the grooves and the holes the contact surface is much less so you don't gain anything from having the larger brakes I rekon. But yes, they have been known to crack around the holes when hammered.

Yea thats the idea of it, and it does work with the more expensive disks because the grooves hold the air like little pockets and holes draw air through them to keep them cool, and they are made to withstand extreme temps.
