Wonder if anyone can help. Everytime i go round a corner theres a rattling noise coming from the O/S front wheel, so i took the wheel off and found the drivshaft was moving in and out, approximately 1/4 of an inch of play!

Just wondered wether anyone had had a similar problem.

i.e, the wrong driveshaft is fitted or its not fitted properly etc

Would a frst driveshaft fit as i hav one laying around? Any help would be grateful

Sorry forgot to mention its a mk3 fiesta fitted with a 1.8 16v zetec

sounds like a CV joint, you need to twist the shaft and see if there is any play you always get a bit of in and out movement, as for the turbo shaft if will be ok on the inner side its just the outer joint depending on the hub size.

After checking the driveshaft and thinking that there isnt much play really i had a look in the other obvious places i got hold of the header tank and found it wasnt bolted down and was just flapping around in the wind
