Dump valve on CVH

Dump valve on CVH

Postby georgiocat on Fri Feb 07, 2014 7:24 pm

Hello people...hope everyone's fine and happy :) I am thinking seriously for some time now to install a dump valve on my Escort. After some reading here and in some books I have,I came to the conclusion that it will just help turbo last longer, especially since I run it on stock boost,I know it won't add power.I have a T25 installed, mostly due to the way it behaves on my car.A t3 had lag,T2 was boosting for fun at once. So,according to my driving habbits,T25 suits me better.I see a lot of people using Bailey, some other use Collins, some other use Forge. What are the pros and cons of each one, which do you prefer at least by it's sound, and what do you suggest,an atmosperic one or a recirculating one?I know that it each one is for a different type of air measurement regarding management, but my concern is that I don;t want too much noise,I prefer the chatter. So,I was thinking to buy a recirculating type one and vent it to the atmosphere and if it makes more noise than I would like, connect it to the intake hose. What is your opinion?I would like to listen some, good, bad, all welcome.

a bailey one is a good choice as its a piston valve instead of a diaphragm one like most. they are all quite noisy so id suggest a recirculating one....but to be honest i wouldnt bother..for the little amount of boost your running the shock wave from the throttle shutting wouldnt be of high enough pressure to damage/wear the turbo much. plus as you say the 'chatter' is better ;)

Thank you very much.Yeah,I believe that there will be no problem for the tubo, since boost is not high...This is the reason that I am thinking if I should install a dump valve or not,and I want to see opinions :)
