Dump valves on FRST??

Postby Rusey on Tue Oct 18, 2005 4:57 pm

I have been thinking for some time about fitting a dump valve to my RS. The cars running pretty standard apart from Remus exhaust system, K&N, Pace intercooler and has also had a T3 conversion.

The car chutters like an absolute beaut, so the idea on getting a DV has never appealed however a few friends on mine are saying that a DV will dramatically improve performance through gear change!?

What is the score with DV's?? hate em or love em??

Well i know of people that have done timed runs and got faster times with out a dump valve ive asked turbo dynamics and universal turbo's and they said by not using a dump valve you will not do any damage to your turbo you have to be running 400+bhp to snap the turbo spindle u-turbo said that it's just for the noise

but running without a DV will in no way cause any damage? i think the "chutter" is a far better sound than a DV!

Thanks guys

So the fact of the matter is, their only really useful for big BHP motors.

I think Il stay with my instinct and keep the chutter :D
