Physically, it might just fit (I reckon it will, just) but your main difficulty will be mating it to a Fiesta gearbox. Weight-wise, there shouldn't be a massive problem as the block is ally I think.

If you can make it fit, I want one in mine!! Prices for the engine, please

It may fit, but the extra weight at the front would make it a bugger to get round corners...

2.5 litre Duratec V6 weighs 166kg.
How heavy is the 2.0 litre Zetec?

Tell you what, something about stuffing a V6 in a Fiesta is producing a weird stirring in my stomach. I think its envy!

Go for it. Lets have lots of photo's. I can see the stickers now, Duratec Inside!

Best of luck. Don't forget, theres nothing an angle grinder, a MIG, and lots of lots of patience, time, blood sweat and tears cannot solve.

Best thing to do is suspend the engine via a crane/engine lift, and try to visualise the best position for it. You probably need to connect drive shafts to the gearbox, so you know that it is sitting centrally when in the engine bay. After that, use axle stands/blocks of wood to support it, and then offer up things like the radiator, to make sure you can still fit one in the front etc.
Been there, done that (but not with a V6)

Has anyone done a V6 conversion before? I saw pictures in a Ford mag a year or two ago of a Mk2 that was going to be a RWD conversion too... but not heard of it since.

what current chassis modification have you done ?

liek its been said and was in the article in fast ford with thefezza with cosworth lump !

you are gonna have to cut alot of metal from the car to get it to fit then restrengthen the chassis so it will fit !

major undertaking yes just persevere and all will go well ! i hope

Why piss about cutting the front of the car up 2 fit a huge power engine fwd, if you cutting and pasting make it rwd, less work cos u just get a tunnel from a mk1/2 escort auto, move the fuel tank 2 the boot, put in a mk1/2 escort boot floor, weld in the brackets 4 leaf springs, weld the cross member in the front to the chassis rails and its mint. Then it will drive like an absolute beast! Dunno if you'll catch the broadside though!

Did you see these pictures of the Focus V6 in the states? Theres bugger all room in the Focus engine bay, and I don't know how it compares with the Fessie, but this is a real show-horn job
