edis4 and esc module question

edis4 and esc module question

hi my car is a xr2i 16v with a 2.0 silvertop mondeo engine fitted running edis4. im fitting bike carbs and need to know if i can just unplug the edis and plug in a esc module using the edis4 wiring loom and plug? do all the wires go to the same places?

EDIS can be run completely stand alone.Since you already have the crankshaft sensor,nothing more than the EDIS module and a coilpack is needed.Use this schematic

You just don't use PIP and SAW wires,these go to the ECU.

I'm guessing he wants to use the ESC module because it provides a MAP sensor which allows for vacuum advance when used on a carb'd zetec... or at least thats why I used it on my XR2

Oh,my bad then.I didn't know that esc has a map and can alter advance...very interesting.Sorry if I confused you further...EDIS can't alter advance,it's true,unless you find a way to feed it with SAW signal.
