Is it just me or is the Forum very slow in submitting edited posts? It can take upto 30 seconds before the confirmation of editing box appears.

yep, editing posts does seem to take a little longer on here than other forums, don't know why.

probably due to the database being so huge and so many requests at a time. it's quicker to select data than modify it i think

Nothing to do with database size, it's just inneficient code that was fixed in a later version of the board software.

I think this version works fine, so not really much point in upgrading.

It's free but upgrading is a pain backup up a huge database and it puts the forum offline for a while, longer if it doesn't work first time.

You could backup the whole DB in about 5 or 10 minutes

Ade, I recently upgraded a phpbb from 2.04 to 2.06 and the database didnt need to be touched, only a couple of files needed to be replaced.

Not sure if anything has majorly changed since 2.00 to warrant a change in the database .

Depends on how its exported, with phpmyadmin it could be zipped and only be a few mb. As it is, im guessing about 80mb, probaby allot more.
