Educated Guess - What spec is my amp?

Postby richard_p88 on Tue Sep 12, 2006 5:23 pm

Its a BassForce BFA-600 600w max. I'd like to know probable RMS.

4Channels bridgeable in the following ways. (max)

4x150
2x300
2x150 1x300

It has a single 25A fuse in it.

I can't find ANYTHING about it on the internet, and it has no paperwork. My brother got it cheap from a friend and came in the car when i bought it from him.

I'm looking to upgrade my sub, so it'd be nice to have a figure which it's actual power lies around.

there is a calculation to work out RMS, you need to know the fuse size, and the lowest impedance the amp can go

I'll try to find out impedence, it may be printed on the underside or something.

As stated though, it has a 25A fuse. Whereas my brothers JBL Also 600W 4/3/2 channel has 2x20A. I'm guessing buying one of those would be an upgrade, despite the 'box figures' being the same. :-?

There is a sticker on the back which is partially missing, looks like it says speaker - 4 (ohm).

Take it as 4 ohm lowest with 25A fuse.

Does anyone know the calculation Rhinopower mentioned?

I have the same problem.

I have a Boschmann PCH-6480, which like yours says 600w. It also says 4/3/2 channel bridgeable. I guess its 4 ohms and it has a 40A fuse.

Can anybody help?

Think i've found the answer. Although there is no mention of ohms.

I'm probably looking at 45w RMS per channel, as no doubt mine will be less than 60% efficient.

Awesome.

13.8 x 40 x 0.6 = 331W RMS total output. - should be good for my 350W RMS sub :)

Thanks
