EGR

Postby scotty_boy on Wed Jan 19, 2005 6:18 pm

Afternoon people :D

How much work is involved in taking the EGR system off my zetec. I heard that you can buy blanking plugs to just fill the gaps in the block, but how important is the EGR system to the management. in other words, if i take it off, will it run rough or different?

thanks a lot. any anwers are welcome :aviator:

Its not EGR!! its a pulse air system. Its Easy to take off. Its only to get the cat up to operating temperatures quicker as it only comes on for around the first two minutes or so. I I've taken mine off and i dont have any problems, and does not affect emmisions once the car is up to proper temps.

HTH :) - I'll give you the part numbers once i find them.

I think these are the correct FINIS codes:

Blanking plugs - FINIS 6732263

Copper Washers - FINIS 1008597

Give Roger an email @ RogerP@Edwardsford.co.uk He'll be able to get them for ya.

HTH :)

I think the ECU may chuck up a fault code if connected to a Ford diagnostics test but thats all it'll do.
