Electric problem with my ZS...?
Hi guys,
Just need some help really. The brake light bulbs needed changing so I replaced the bulbs.
Ever since replacing them with new ones the brake lights have worked but the rear lights haven't.
Unsure what has happened and unsure what I've done to make the rear lights not to turn on?
Might be something simple but I've never come across this before and I'm awful with electrics.
Cheers,
James

Did you check the fuse? If you accidentally hit the bulb holder off the body etc you could have shorted out the fuse, worth a look anyways

I've looked at the fuse located in the dash. Looks ok to me...
Unless the fuse is located in the engine bay? Sorry, no good at these things lol

Re: Electric problem with my ZS...?
Ford put the front and rear left light on one fuse, and the front and rear right on seperate fuses, so if a fuse blows I'll still have one bulb working, sounds strange.

Were they combined brake and rear light bulbs and you possibly fitted single 21w bulbs by mistake?

Re: Electric problem with my ZS...?
Shouldn't be dual element, should be single.
Are they LEDs?
The bulb holders use a common earth. Is the bulb holder actually getting power when the lights should be on?
(It's reverse polarity, so the earth is the bottom pin, and the live will be the outter)

They are not LED's. Just a normal halfords bulbs. As said the Brake lights do work. But the rear lights do not turn on? The fuse is blue 15 under the dash right? So I thought anyway. Fuse looks ok to me. It's a strange one, and really need it sorted before the MOT!

Well it must be getting power as the brake lights work? Obviously the it's the same bulb. It's just the rear lights do not turn on when I switch it on dipped beam and full. Strange, as I've checked all the fuses under he dash. They look all fine. Hope it can be fixed!

But it's not the same bulb. It's the smaller one next to the brake light bulbs.
