Engine cleaning help please

Anyone have any tips or recommended products for cleaning the engine bay ?

I would personally take as much off as you can and detail the bits of rubber etc with a nice satin silicon after youve washed them all out in any form of degreaser and repaint the metalwork and if possible re zinc the crusty bolts and replace old tatty jubilee clips.

Will look fine if ya do it that way!! :D
