Engine conversions
My friend has a very very nice 1.4 Fiesta Si! She wants to change the engine now that insurance is better for her but is unsure what route to go!
She has a 2.0litre mondeo engine, but is worried about the cost and reliablity of having it fitted. She also has the chance possibly of a 1.6 cvh out of an xr3i that has ben played with and running twin45's!
What is an easy and reliable conversion for her to have?
I was thinking of an xr2i cvh and have it lightened balanced and camed just for the pure easy of installation. As i should think that all it will need is the xr2i ecu, the rest should be there at a guess!
Any suggestions answers on a post card cheers!

i looked into putting a xr2i engine into the 1.4 si and aparently your better off getting a rs turbo put in if you want it performance wise or a 2ltr cos they mesure out quite well..
but still if u dont wanna have sky high insurance then i looked into getting a stage 3 xr2i engine for bout £1000 fully reconditioned.

i did also mention the rst engine but i ont know if she would want that.
With the 2ltr tho she will need to gather more parts that she may struggle to get.
Am i right in saying a 1600cvh efi would go straight in?
They are a good little engine and much less grief to put in. And lots of people go for the zetec to get the same power as a lightly tuned cvh. Seems pointless.
But then a again ive not had a lot to do with the zetec but i can see tuning to cost a bit more than a cvh!
