mate, if you're serious about do this I might be able to help. My mechanic will shortly be doing a conversion on a mark3 XR2i and the engine will be available. So if you wanted to go to xr2i power we can sort something out. Say something like £400-£500 FITTED! Drive in drive out kind of thing. Should only take a day.
E-mail if you're seriously interested in doing this and I'll put a hold on the engine.

what kind of condition is that engine in? And that include the gearbox? If its in good working order i could also be very intrested in that as my gearbox is shagged and ma engine drinks oil and is on the way out, its an xr2i already.

Fiesta_Steve :1.3 HCS CFi or 1.4 CVH CFi will go straight in with no messing about, a 1.6 EFi will need to change the fuel system and ECU
any HCS will go straight in, do not go for a cfi cus they aint really injection, and they aint carb either, the CVH will not go straight in, a bit of wiggling of stuff and it will. but it aint really worth the bother, u mite as well just sell it and buy a car with a bigger engine
