Engine Mounts

Postby So_SiMpLe_ on Sat Feb 28, 2009 1:47 am

Hi there!

Does anyone has changed the engine ou gearbox mounts to make less "cockpit" vibration?

My diesel engine makes the car vibrate as hell, but the mounts seem good! what if mk4 or mk5 mounts are better designed to make less vibration?

Thanks!

But wouldnt they be totally different, because i'd assume they'd have a different gearbox ?

So you mean that for the same 1.8d engine the mk4 and mk5 gearboxes are different from the mk3?

I suppose that the engine and gearbox mounts are fitted in exactly the same place as the mk3... :-?

Thanks!

You could use lower spec engine mounts but throttle response will be a bit jerky if they can't cope with the torque.

Yes that's a fact, but that kind of engine mounts are not made by ford! Aren't they?

Thanks
