Engine Rebuild ??

What exactly is involved in this ? what is replaced or made better ? And will it be like a new engine ? and what kinda costs for what, I know Snake was saying XFactor is doing them !

well price depends on where you get it done..



but usually they will throughly clean and check all parts of the engine, prob fit new gaskets and seals and ensure all shafts and mating surfaces are free from burrs and defects. they will replace things like cams followers when fitting a new camshaft, con rod,flywheel, cylinderhead and strech bolts, all other fastenings should be checked for wear or damage.
erm they will also change the oil and filter.
cant think of any else :bonkers:


so yeah it will be pretty much a new engine.

nearer £800 i would expect, im not 100% sure [ERRR] i havent ever looked into it.

lol, FOR ANYONE THAT DON`T KNOW I AM PART OF X-FACTOR NOW!.. lol, i do the mechanical stuff... Watch this space cos we are gettin a workshop soon :wink: , lol aint got time to go into this now, i`m off to saafend again, was only their last night :oooh: lolol......

1. r u doing the job ur self :-?

2.is it the 1.1 u r doing or a cvh

3.if u r doing the job ur self do u wont std or fast road

4.if std it can b dun 4 about £120 as all the bit's mit b ok if not
then get the bet's from some like NORMAD they sell good parts at a good
price :)

5.if u r going 4 fast roar then Just get a cam u can get 1 4 about
£120 and that's a kit then do a std B end and that will do u
if u wont more power then u can go 4 a biger cc but it cost a lot and u
do not get a lot back in power :(

(but thats wot i think) :wink:

its not for my 1.1, but just trying to cost it for a 2i, but wont be doing it myself as i know nuthin !
