engine swap

Postby musicdrummer42 on Sat Aug 27, 2005 10:12 am

as my 1.1i HCS Cfi engine is nearly dead, i've decided i'm gonna put another engine in. looking at a 1.3i HCS Cfi, mainly because of insurance, me being 17 rules out a 1.6  will be a bit faster than the 1.1.

a few questions really:

what will i need to buy?
will i need to change all the wiring and ecu to the 1.3 one?
can i keep all the original 1.1 ancillaries?
will it be a straight out with the old and in with the new, and it'll connect up to all the existing components ok?

also, does anyone know where i can get a fast road cam for the 1.3i HCS Cfi, if they exist?

cheers for your help.

pete.

It'll go straight in, no need to change anything

Would be suprised if you see any difference though, theres very little difference in power
