Engine transplant...

CVH and Zetec tuning, suspension and braking mods.

Postby The Bruster on Sun May 13, 2001 11:01 pm

OK, I'm begginning to look into engine transplants, I'm looking for something that'll not be too slow, be an easy swap, etc etc. I was thinking along the lines of a 2 litre mondeo lump, as this'll probably be more insurance freindly then if I mention the dreaded letters "XR" or "RS". Cheers.

I drive a 1.8D ;-(

they made a lady lever up tho, as when i rang for a quote b4 i got the car, they quoted me 1000 for the year, then they told me that they made a mistake and that was for half a year  funlumps
try CIS, loads of people swear by it, unlike me who swears AT my company

Dannyboy, u'll be looking at around the £700ish maybe £800ish mark for a complete running gear which includes engine, wiring loom, petrol tank, gearbox etc etc....im looking at doing the same conversion but on a van! ive already sorted out an engine though  VERY powerful!!! would u do the conversion urself??

Bruster with the diesel there is allot of stuff involved in converting the engine as far as i can see

i think "only goessing" you will need manifolds from a zetec 2i, Wiring loom from a 2i and a losd of other bits. i would advise a different gear box as the diesel one has long rations. (not much acceleration) does anyone know about drive shafts and stuff from diesel cars with different gearboxes ?
