engine upgrade

hi all

ive currently got a 1.1 engine in my fezzy and is on its way out.

i was thinkin of upgradein 2 a 1.3 to keep the insurance sweet etc

will the brakes, gearbox etc need upgrading 2???

It must be the time of year. How many engine conversion questions have come up in the last week?

DonnyDan, you should always fit vented brakes if you don't have them (you need calipers, discs and pads).

Gearbox will be fine.

You should fit the 1300 carb and inlet manifold.

will the carb not come with the engine?
im gettin it from the scrappers and thought it was a hole unit!
also i thought the manifold was the same

Carb won't always come with the engine.

If you can find one, fit the 1300 exhaust but the 1100 exhaust will do the job fine for the time being.

im no mechanic and dont really no exactly wots needed, thankfully im not fitting it!

just lettin u all know its 4 a mk3
had words with a garage and they say its only the engine i need, even the fcukin carbs the same apparently! not quite sure bout that though??????
any1 know if its diff? in the hayes manual theyre the same kind of carb, but diff model no's? whos right?

As I said, quite helpfully I thought, GET IN TOUCH WITH ALWAYSMODS2DO, HE DID THE VERY SAME CONVERSION. :rolleyes:

16V_Si :is there alot of difference in power is there, how much is the engine

when ur used to driving a 1.1 a 1.3 is quite nippy,
more torque and about 20 more brake i think?

how about my 1600cvh (xr2 carb) with everything you will need including brakes, radiator, hoses, wiring lomb converted to plug straight in..... make me an offer and its yours (only done about 42k).... somewhere around £200 :D :D :D
