ERST & FRST gearboxes
Besides the LSD what is the difference
If i have a qauife ATB fitted to the FRST box does this negate the need for me to take advantage of the ERST LSD right
Or am i totally muddled up

moondust frst there is no comparison between the quaife a.t.b and the escot lsd the a.t.b diff rocks its an excellent diff i had an escort rs turbo gearbox on my frst ratio wise i did`nt notice alot of difference i kept on breaking the gearboxes because of the torque my 1.9 frst produced then i got hold of the company that done sunnys and paul r gearbox and i went for there stage two gearbox which had bigger bearings uprated lay shaft and main shaft quaife a.t.b diff and (8.3 final drive i think) i told him that i wanted the geabox to be geared so the car would be able to do 160+ mph the car is alot faster round bends and i hardly get any wheel spin you can find the company web site on http://www.gearboxman.co.uk the boss bernie said to me that the escort lsd is quite weak and with the spec of your engine and the boost you want to end up with you can`nt go wrong contacting them because you will be forever breaking standard gearboxes

16v_si answer yes they are cheap and it would be to your advantage
moondust speak to bernie at c.t.s about the ratios you just say what you want and he will build it for you since i fitted the gearbox i`ve been tearing about everywhere confident that i won`t suffer from breakages
