Ask on FSI, will be able to help you more.

I think though its same as 2.0 conversion.. be better to do 2.0 too really.

As Danny said, its probably better to do the 2.0l if your doing one. What power 1.8 is it. 105 or 115?

Its the 105. The reason i am goin for the 1.8 is because i already av the escort sittin next 2 the fiesta ;). Otherwise i wud go for the 2.0 but alraedy got the 1.8. Had them side by side and there isnt much difference apart from the power steering setup from wot i can c. My only main concern is the battery tray in the fiesta its gonna get in the way when hoisting the engine out and to top it all its not bolted in its welded :(, but not really concerned that much as i can cut it out if need be unless sum1 else has a solution for this (apart from take the engine from underneath the car haven';t got ramps or axel stands high enuf). I know the waterpump setup is exactly the same on both [ERRR] had to change the water pump on both vehicles ;) so i am thinkin that the ancillaries belt setup is the same.

Thanx for the replies

Escort engines are pretty much the same. I fitted one after my first engine let go. On mk5 escorts the setup's very similar apart from the alternator/pas belt setup and the engine/gearbox mounts. On mk6s the inlet manifold is different. Also, quite a few escorts have the starter motor on the back so would moving to the front meaning the Fiesta gearbox has to be used.

As for getting it out, drop it out the bottom with the gearbox too.

One problem you might have though is the ECU. You'd need a 1.8 ECU from a Fiesta because of the PATs thing on mk6 Escorts.

If you're sticking with the 1.8 idea, maybe look into upgrading a few parts to RS1800 130 spec ;)

Rite so i cant use the ECU from the escort then. Its a mk5 so alrite wif it fittin I wanted the gearbox from the fiesta anyway as the si gearbox is way beta than the escort 1 ;).

Cheers for all the replies
