Do you mean is there such a thing as a 1.8 Zetec in an Escort?. Yes, The Mark 5 Escort XR3i, GTi and Escort Si have 1.8 Zetec Engines. I believe the XR3i came in 2 flavours - 105bhp & 130bhp, not too sure about the Escort GTI, but the Escort Si is rated at 115bhp. I've got a 1.8 Zetec from an M-Reg Escort Si in my G-reg Fiesta XR2i.

Well, i got the engine and all the other bits needed from my local ford breakers, and had it fitted by the garage right next to it. Cost me in total, for the engine, all the other bits i needed and fitting.. £1,155, and its been running just great for over 8 months, apart from a few non engine related problems that were easily fixed . The engine itself had 55k and cost me £400.

I was hoping you wasnt going to ask that, as its a bit of a hybrid.

About a week before i swapped engines, i had a gearbox from an Orion 1.6i (CVH) fitted. As far as i'm aware, the only parts that i had from the Escort was the Engine, Wiring Loom and ECU. It was those bits that cost me £400. I've got a Radiator and middle part of the exhaust from an RS1800. Still using the Orion Gearbox (i like that as it gave me longer gears than i had with the standard fiesta box). I think apart from the above, everything else in there is the standard CVH XR2i bits. Oh i did have to change the engine mounts for stronger items as they got worn out after the first month with the zetec. I used Engine Mounts for a Fiesta Turbo. Also i needed a new Clutch, but i dont know if the clutch is a CVH type or for a Zetec.
