Is there mich difference in the frst and escort altenater.
I currently have a escort alt (dont ask), and the fixin bolt seems to be hittin off the bottom of the turbo, any one got any ideas?

Thought as much, but seems weird the eay the turbo is hittin off it, not that much, but still dont look like ford intended it too.
Dont hapen to know the correct altbelt code, as the one ford gave me, dont even go around it, even with it alt loosened to the last, and its hittin off the sump.

[ERRR] chance of u getting a pic of what it looks like? as for the correct alt belt...neone will do just as long as its long enough to fit properly

Afaik the Escort alts are topmounted - the fiesta ones are underslung and the pulleys are a couple of mm out which, although not particularly noticeable, will shred belts pretty quickly.

You should be able to pick up the Fiesta CVH one for less than £20 from a scrappers.

Al...but if it fits...and u swap the pulleys over...would it not sort the problem out??

But i dont have the pulley from the escort.
What do you mean topmounted, it seems to be mounted the same as the frst alt, if it was topmounted it wouldnt fit at all.
This one hangs down from the mountin point, is that not underslung?
Just seems that the nut on the end of the bolt (on the right hand side(lookin from the frount), is hittin off the botton of the turbo, but just a mill or two

Can some one help please, still havent sorted out the problem, and if i have to get a frst ill have to pay a bit as ill have to get it sent from the uk.
So if i can get around it with out doin so it would be cool.

If it's underslung I think it will be 100% fine.
