Its a rattling smokey baxtered!
On the subject of mine, got it all built up today and its running like a new one! i think i maybe set the cambelt slightly too tight though because it 'zings' a bit.
I'll knock it off a touch when i can be arsed to lif the bonnet again!

RS7 softies mate, all the way!
The other ones arent graphite, they are dark metallic green. this was just my spare.
I'm just sick of seeing the white car/green wheel combo. There seems to be alot going of it going on at the mo
Admit it, aqua foam wheels are the future............................

This Escort is just perfect. Love reading through this!
The new colour on the alloys looks great too, totally different to what we're use to seeing. I love it!

Re: Escort Surf bus
didnt know about the RS18 block either mate, sorry i cant text back atm ran out of credit
was you fitting the head to a standard 1.8 block?
i had trouble finding a suitable gromet earlier for the amp power cable to go through, ended up using the one for the brake pedal, poked a hole in it and fed it through
standard sound system in these are quite good with a sub, you were right but just to be on the safe side ive fitted my 16cm speakers in the front

Wow, haven't poked my nose in here for a while Matt and it's looking spot on. Nice work! Very interested to see it with the aqua foam wheels all done!
My name is Alex. I used to have a Capri. I don't anymore. But I'm still called Capri.

Re: Escort Surf bus
Cheers guys, its nice to see some love for a s**t old workhorse!!
Alex, how about a feature?
No mate, we was putting the full engine in .On the Escort where the starter mounts at the back, the RS block had some webbing that blocked half of the hole! On the Fiesta its a front mounted starter.
We only found this out when we got the GTI engine out and mounted the box onto the RS lump ready to fit it back in.
So it was going to be either strip and rebuild the GTI engine with all the parts of the RS engine, or do this!

Re: Escort Surf bus
Wheels on, theyre staying
In the sunlight they look awesome, the pics in the shade dont really do them justice.
Just waiting for the white rimtape to come through the door. They could maybe do with some more laquer, but i just wanted them on. I'll take them off soon and give the a good flat and polish.
Getting buffed up by a mate
