17" softlines really would suit the modern lines on the mk6 escort!
i'm not saying your rs2000 rims look bad at all, just think the softlines would finish it off for me :Q

haha i know! the sneaky devil

aww ive grown to it, its fun to drive and ive missed having a mk3, and lets not forget, its got all the creature comforts i need :Q

get rid of it he said, hah well thats looking more and more bleak!

i told my gramps im getting attached to it, and he said "ah well keep it then" :o :oooh:

matthew my good fella, aint you starting to miss the power of the Rs? the escort has a 1.8 hasn't it? you could fit all the RS parts to give it 130bhp! :D

i know its a boat but still 130bhp would shift it pretty quick :P

i was re-reading the Rs's feature in FF  haha looking at your hair :bonkers:

haha, well thinking about it 90ps, or a 1.8s 105ps, not that much of a difference

not sure about torque

if it were me, (mind this would depend on how attached tot he car you are) id sell the RS lump, and get a GTi 1.8 for the escort

dont mean to be rude and a 'conquering device', but i thinkt he RS engine should go in something more worth while :o

lol im sorry

well the RS engine is worth more than any old 1.8

Re: Escort Surf bus

Postby Ratspeed on Thu Mar 04, 2010 11:02 pm

If i were to drop an engine in, it would probably be a rotten GTi and use the engine and ECU and then stick the Rs cams or put some 2ltr cams in with a plastic 2ltr focus manifold. an easy 130(ish) bhp for cheapness and a weekends work :Q

As for the bus being worth it or not, i much prefer the Estates to the hatches, always have. There is just something about them :oooh:
Plus the bus is solid underneath ans it will always be more fun owning people in an estate than being dissapointed with a escort badged up as a GTi to sell the leftovers as opposed to actually making a quick escort :P

i probably wont sell the engine out of the rs, it will stay tucked away in a garage until i have the time and funds to build a proper olskool ford

As for missing the power of the RS, not many cars feel really quick when youve hung your arse on the ground at 100+mph :Q

haha younger years, your only 24 or so :P

i woudlnt liek a stone to catch me in the bollcks at them speeds :oooh:

if you'd rather a fast escort, why not 2.0l it? them engines are cheap as chips these days

you could probably sell your white rs wheels for simialr money it would cost to get the engine you want :Q
