Exhaust and 4-2-1 manifold fitting

Postby MatrixProbe on Sat Nov 13, 2004 9:04 pm

hi guys, hoping someone can help me, i've got a magnex full stainless steel exhaust and ashley 4-2-1 manifold, i fitted it myself and it kept blowing where the down pipe meets the middle section, so i took it to the local exhaust place who refitted that part with a new gasket (standard size small metal one, and it sounded sweet as, for 3days :( then it started blowing again and its really annoying, has anyone got any suggestions? please help me.

thanks for your reply.

went to the exhaust place earlier, and the chap had a look at it, and he told me to watch the engine as he rocked it forward in 1st with handbrake on. and it moved loads:( so i gotta get 2 new engine mounts, and fit them.

Need engine mounts

For the two days that it was fully sealed, it made a huge difference, but since the seals broke again its not really that much different except an extremely annoying noise. Havent done my mounts yet, i need to ring up my local auto supplies and get em to order me some, just finding the time, failing that i'll nick some 2nd hand ones from work (erm i mean borrow) (i work at a salvage yard, comes in handy)
